Sagar, sorry about your issues – I am sure this program is Windows only. Perhaps you could try running it under a VM machine but I have no experience in that.
On a side note I read a great saying the other day ‘It’s easier to give away free software then free support’ – if you find this software useful please donate to the author; personally It has saved me invaluable time and effort and that is worth it
Hello, I was trying to make a USB with an XP installer and a Linux iso file (Gparted). I would like to be able to boot into Gparted in EFI mode as well, as the iso supports it, however it seems like the program only includes EFI support if you supply an EFI windows boot disk as well. Could you make EFI support a checkbox instead?
EFI support currently is only for Windows sources which support EFI.
Program uses grub4dos for the multiboot whuch does not and most likely will never have EFI support.
Currently there is no other boot manager which has its features, so building multiboot disk with ISOs with EFI support is not doable task.
Grub2 can help to some extent, but that would require quite a lot of work and testing, for which I don’t have the spare time needed.
In short- if there was easy way to add such support I would have done it long ago.
I selected the Windows 8 option for Windows 10 and it works perfectly. No problems whatsoever.
When I tried to add the second .iso to my flash disk, the program complains something about NT6 Boot process.

I think the problem is with the Chinese system locale. Do you think you can change it temporarily to EN-US and try again?
Thanks. It works after I change my non-Unicode program locale!
Well, I don’t know how to change the locale temporarily. Changing it system-wide requires reboot and breaks some program’s UI like IDM.
Is there any solution that can change locale for only one application?
Thanks for the feedback!
It’s very good to know that changing only non-unicode locale helped, this was bugging me for quite some time. The issue is that bcdedit dumps sometimes weird output and parsing fails.
What did you set to get it working?
Can you post the new log file to compare the bcd output?
In next version I can add check for the locale and warn when necessary.
I change it to the en_US.
Here is the new log: http://www.datafilehost.com/d/153e90c0
I also attach my bcdedit output to it. (zh_CN locale, using command (bcdedit > chinese-bcdedit-dump.log))
Thank you
Could you please update imdisk to to newest version, i believe from 2014, currently its version states 2011
https://github.com/dindinw/imdisk
What do you need from the latest imdisk version which is not present in the supplied and well tested one ?
Hi,
Have you ever tried to boot the legacy (pre-2013) Hitachi Drive Fitness Test utility dft32_v416_b00.iso (from https://www.hgst.com/support/downloads/legacy-downloads)? When I try to boot it on my laptop, it just hangs at the “Loading DFT …” stage. I’m wondering if having booted it from a USB stick is causing it a headache…
Cheers,
Alex
Tried it on another computer and it booted OK, so I don’t think it’s booting from USB that is causing the problem…
Try changing the SATA mode in BIOS, just an idea
I’ve just noticed that on the download page for Drive Fitess Test v4.16 (http://www.hgst.com/hdd//support/download.htm) it says:
Does not support the PC which loads Intel ICH9M chipset. HGST are working to fix this situation.
The laptop which won’t boot it is a Lenovo N500 which I believe uses the Intel ICH9M chipset, so that would explain it…
Mystery solved 🙂
Bug submission for WinSetupFromUSB-1-6-beta2 with details, log, and dump file

Program hangs.
Can you upload the full log file, just the log file.
It’s linked at the top of the PasteBin, but here it is again:

Missed the link, thanks.
I believe bcdedit hangs or stays open and program waits for its exit.
Can you try again and if hangs, check with task manager if there is a bcdedit.exe process listed?
I tried it again tonight on a different usb stick. 10×64 completed, then it hung on 10×86. Task manager viewing processes from all users does not show bcdedit.exe running.
Can you try only the 10×86 source with the format option enabled so it’s the only source?
Hangs with WinSetupFromUSB-1-6-beta1 as well, but completes with WinSetupFromUSB-1-5 (no errors).
Will post v1.5 log if you’re interested.
I have a usb memory 32gb G3 DataTraveler 100 USB 3.0, which does not work in Windows 7 , indicating missing drivers disk , therefore not detect any hard drive to format and install the operating system
Stock Windows 7 does not support USB3. Use USB 2.0 port, or disk, or change port speed in BIOS, or integrate USB 3.0 drivers in the source. You could also try the advanced option for adding boot drivers.
help me please
