This seems like a partial log. Please post the full log file, use pastebin.con or read FAQ page hiw ro post log files.
Please, do not just dump the raw log in the comments!
Sorry for that
Here is download link of the whole log file: http://www.datafilehost.com/d/f2e0fd87
And of course it is not completed because I need to end the process after waiting few hours for it to respond
Neo, I can’t be sure whether log file is broken because of the crash, or because of the copy-paste here and the limited space in the comments. In any case dumping raw log files like this is not good idea at all.
Anyway, program stops here:
Parsing E:\nam\usb boot\WinSetupFromUSB-1-4\TempWST\boot\bcd for
Does this path and file bcd exist in it?
For some reason bcdedit is not returning anything and program waits for that output. Check read/write permissions on that path, try extracting the program im simple path like c:\winsetupfromusb
Same applies for the path to and the name of the iso file- rename it and remove all those fancy looking characters in it and try again.
There hasn’t been similar report so far and there must be something unique in your setup. When testing no need to wait for hours, those operations where it hangs need seconds…
Can this be used to do a repair instal, don’t want to over write files & software
Should work, as long as you are using proper source, talking about Windows.
Some background of the situation…My Sony VGN-A790 10 year old laptop with 3 year old hard drive, crashed due to a virus or power outage. I am stuck in a reboot loop, that I can’t stop even with going into F8 and trying safe mode safe mode with command line, last best known, and disable auto restart on system failure, which doesn’t stop the auto restart, I get a black screen with many lines of white text. If I let the screen sit for about 15 minutes, I see the flash of what I believe is a bsod screen, but can’t read it, because it goes directly into the reboot after the flash of the blue screen.
I tried a disc I made years ago, but have never used, and although it plays it gets hung up on the screen where it says can’t access EULA end user license agreement. I bought what was supposed to be a retail disc, but ended up being DSP generic OEM.It would not play farther than the press any key to boot from cd screen. I have the files copied from that disc, to Win 7 laptop. I do have a bootable usb drive, but have seen no info on how to do a Repair with one.
I have a picture of the files listed in the folder, how can I be sure that the source is proper? It is DSP OEM not retail, and I have an old sony.
hi. why do you added internal check for NT6 sources with multiple boot.wim ?? it is very inconvenient 🙁
Simply because it’s not supported, hence the check and the warning. Better that just not supported and no warning, right?
Why is not supported- that’s broken design and hard to be followed in a multiboot USB scenario, besides, there is no need of multiple boot.wim, one is enough and can support multiple x86 and x64 install.wim’s.
i used this iso xxxxxxxxx
author write:
“At a very early stage of the installation has pre-boot menu where you can select the bit primary shell, that is what will be used by the installer, x86 or x64. Because of this, you should not worry that the 64-bit version of the OS can not stand on RAID, and that users of 64-bit operating system may be without service recovery system. For the most inquisitive: Do not attempt to install the 32-bit version of the OS with the 64-bit installer – the final stage of deployment installer will give an error and refuse to continue with the installation.”
I know where you are coming from, been there and tried. Such heavily modified unofficial sources are simply hard to be supported. There is no guarantee if I make it work for one source, whether it will work for the other, or with the next “release” of the same source.
And please, no links here to copyrighted software.
sorry from link 🙁
I understand you, and thank you for your project 🙂
I change the BCD file from Visual BCD and achieved the desired result

Have you read FAQ 2 and 10?
There is no need to change the program to achieve what you need, just use it as many times as you need.
There are also a detailed tutorials on the Tutorials page, you only need to read them.

when I add an image win 7, I get an error:
This doesn’t seem to be valid source!
Either or all of \sources\boot.wim, \bootmgr
\boot\, \boot\BCD are missing, or source is not supported.
You can add the ability to disable this function in advanced settings?
Read these comments:

Most likely the ISO is not UDF as it’s supposed to be and 7zip can’t read it, or some of these files are indeed missing.
And no, surely such option cannot be added because these files are needed and if 7zip can’t see them or they are missing then cannot be extracted later on and used.
thank you, but my mistake was that I ran winsetupfromusb across a network
Wouldn’t have guessed it…
